Delete your
Tidel account
This page explains how to delete your account in the Tidel app (MX Performance Tracker, developed by Magnus Linnerud Støme) and everything stored with it.
Option 1 — in the app
If you still have Tidel installed, this is the fastest way and it takes effect immediately.
- Open Tidel
- Go to More (bottom right)
- Scroll to Your account
- Tap Delete my account and confirm
Option 2 — by email
If you have already uninstalled the app, or you cannot reach the button, send us a request and we will delete the account for you.
Include your account code if you still have it — it is the 8-character code shown in the app under More → My share code. Without it, tell us anything that helps us find the right account, such as the rider name you used and roughly when you last rode.
The address is post@tidel.no. A person reads it. You get a written confirmation when the deletion is done.
What gets deleted
All of this is permanently erased — not deactivated, not hidden:
- Your profile, rider name and account code
- Every session, lap and record
- Every raw GPS file you have uploaded, including heart rate and any external telemetry
- Your settings and paired-device list
- Your friend connections
- Any feedback you sent from inside the app
- Your sign-in, if you attached an email address to the account
What is kept, and why
Public track geometry. The name, position, outline, finish line and sector boundaries of tracks in the shared catalogue stay in place — with your name and account removed from them.
The reason is simple: if one rider leaving deleted the track, it would break for everyone else who rides there. This is track information, not information about you. Your GPS traces, lap times and identity are gone.
Anonymous usage events also remain, because they never carried a user id and cannot be traced back to an account.
How long it takes
- Immediately: the account is locked. Nothing more can be written to it.
- 7 days: a grace period in which you can undo the deletion, in case you changed your mind or someone else pressed the button. Deleting from the app lets you cancel it there; if you asked by email, just reply to the confirmation.
- After 7 days: everything listed above is permanently erased from the database and from file storage.
If you ask by email, allow up to 30 days from your request in total — in practice it is normally done within a couple of days, plus the grace period.
Deleting only some of it
You do not have to delete the whole account to get rid of one bad day. A single session can be deleted inside the app, from the session list, and that removes its raw GPS file too.
You can also export everything first, under More → Backup, if you want a copy before it goes.
